Karen Coker began her financial services career in 1996 with PaineWebber. In 2000, she transitioned to Prudential, where she obtained her Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses. In 2004, Karen joined Capital West Securities as a Registered Sales Assistant. Her leadership and operational expertise led to her promotion to Operations Manager in 2007, during which time she obtained her Series 4, 24, and 51 licenses, along with her Oklahoma insurance licenses.
The firm later changed its name to Geary Securities in 2009 before closing in 2012. That same year, Karen joined T.S. Phillips Investments, where she played an integral role in firm operations, compliance, and supervisory oversight. She currently serves as Branch Manager for T.S. Phillips Investments, overseeing day-to-day branch supervision, operational processes, and regulatory compliance responsibilities.
Following the merger of T.S. Phillips Investments with Thurston Springer, Karen assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer and Head of Supervision for Thurston Springer. In this capacity, she oversees the firm’s supervisory framework, risk management processes, and compliance programs, working closely with executive leadership to maintain strong governance standards and a culture of accountability across the organization.
Karen is married to her husband Bill and has two grown children. She enjoys spending her free time crafting and spending time with her family and friends.
